Unity in Diversity

‘Abdu’l-Bahá taught that expressing disagreement is required in the search for truth, “not until matters are fully discussed can the right way be revealed. The shining spark of truth cometh forth only after the clash of differing opinions”.unity in diversity art 1We must “find people who are very different from ourselves” says Margaret Heffernan in her TED Talk.  This means we must strive to “seek out people with different backgrounds, different disciplines, different ways of thinking, and different experience, and find ways to engage with them,” which requires patience and energy.unity in diversity art 2
“Consider the flowers of a garden: though differing in kind, colour, form and shape, yet,” explained ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, “this diversity increaseth their charm, and addeth unto their beauty”.unity in diversity art 3 “In like manner, when divers shades of thought, temperament and character, are brought together under the power and influence of one central agency, the beauty and glory of human perfection will be revealed and made manifest.”
